Thermography or Thermal Imaging is the measurement of infrared radiation which is given off by everything with a temperature above absolute zero (-273 Celsius). Infrared cameras translate this emission into thermal images or Thermo grams ('Heat Pictures') that we can see and 'Read' to accomplish a wide range of diagnostics without touching anything.
Non-destructive, Safe and Cost-effective. Sir William Herschel is credited with discovering infrared in the year 1800 while he was conducting temperature experiments using a prism. He had sunlight pass through a glass prism, thereby breaking it into the various colors of the spectrum (Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red). Using a thermometer to take temperature readings of the individual colors, he found that as he moved the thermometer from the cooler colors, such as indigo and blue, to the warmer colors, such as orange and red, there was an associated temperature increase.
You already know that faulty wiring can flare up and cause a fire. That cracks in your foundation can lead to water infiltration. And that poor insulation raises your heating costs and can lead to structural damage. What you probably don’t know is that you can easily prevent many situations like these.
Saving energy..starts at home!
By having a Thermal Assessment performed on your home, we will not only show you how you will save money and reduce your pollutant emissions, you will actually 'see' the energy leaving your home. From poorly insulated walls & attics, to missing caulking around your windows, with our Thermal imaging cameras we will show you exactly what is wrong with your house and what to do about it. By the way did we mention that Thermal Imaging is non-destructive?
